The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is the focus of the eponymous symposium in Berlin from 21 to 23 October 2024. With the EOSC initiative, the European Commission is creating a unified, open, and trustworthy platform for the exchange and use of research data across Europe. NFDI4Health will be present on-site to highlight the importance of data literacy.

NFDI4Health at the EOSC Symposium

From 21 to 23 October 2024, the symposium of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) will be held in Berlin. The EOSC is a digital platform initiated by the European Commission that enables researchers to have open access to scientific data and cloud services. It promotes collaboration across Europe and facilitates the transparent exchange of research findings between various fields of study. Together with DALIA (Data Literacy Alliance) and the Section Education and Training of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), NFDI4Health is organising an unconference focused on the various needs of the communities regarding training offerings, resources, and certification opportunities:

Title: Data Competencies: Training, Education, Qualification for Researchers and Data Stewards
Chairs: Jens Dierkes & Ulrich Sax
Panellists: Konrad Förstner, Jochen Ortmeyer, Celia van Gelder, Aneta Pazik-Aybar

Following the symposium there will be a satellite event of the NFDI for invited guests from academia and politics from 23 to 24 October 2024. In the format EOSCxNFDI, the spotlight will be on the joint efforts of the 26 NFDI consortia for European data spaces at the national and international levels. Our spokesperson, Juliane Fluck, will introduce NFDI4Health and its core services, and will moderate a World Café to discuss health data.
