At MIE2024, NFDI4Health will offer two exciting workshops:
1. From Principles to Practice: Accelerating FAIR Data Management Training in Health Research for Trainers and Trainees
Since the introduction of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) in 2014, data management in science has changed significantly. This workshop aims to strengthen the collaboration of trainers of the FAIR principles. The goal is to evaluate existing educational resources, identify the needs of the research community, and explore opportunities for cooperation. Participants will gain valuable insights into training for research data management and promoting the implementation of the FAIR principles.
Instructor from NFDI4Health: Matthias Löbe
2. FAIRness4FHIR: Aligning the FAIR Data Principles and HL7 FHIR Profiling
The reuse of health data in clinical, scientific, regulatory, and business contexts offers numerous advantages. HL7 FHIR is an emerging IT standard promoted as an exchange format for health-related data. For research, FHIR provides structures for data at both patient and study levels. In this workshop, organized by the EFMI working group "FAIR Data in Health Research Performing Organizations" the possibilities of how HL7 FHIR profiles should be implemented according to the FAIR principles will be discussed. Participants are invited to bring examples of their own FHIR implementations.
Instructors from NFDI4Health: Matthias Löbe, Carina Vorisek, and Sophie Klopfenstein
