De-mystifying the French Health Data Hub

Prof. Dr. Eva Grill is the guest at the NFD4Health Friday Meeting on 6 September 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., where she will present the French Health Data Hub:

The French healthcare data system (Système National des Données de Santé, SNDS) is an aggregate of several government-funded nationwide databases represented by the French Health Data Hub. Data from the SNDS covers about 99% of the French population. Among these, the comprehensive hospital stay database (Program for Medicalized Systems of Information, PMSI) contains procedural information about all inpatient stays that have occurred in every French public and private hospital. Outpatient data include, e.g., all reimbursed consultations, the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, medication dispensed by public pharmacies, and information about cause and date of death. Additional linkage to other databases is available. Individual health care trajectories can be constructed across sectors. The lecturer Prof. Dr. Eva Grill will give insights into the data architecture of the SNDS, describe the process flow to access and analyse data, and share their personal experiences and work in progress.

The lecture will be held in English. External persons are welcome to register for the zoom lecture here
