The NUM Convention took place from 25th to 26th February 2025 in Berlin. Under the motto "By the community, for the community", more than 500 stakeholders from various fields came together for interdisciplinary exchange. Heyo Kroemer, Chairman of the Board at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, opened the event and emphasised in his speech the importance of a stronger foundation for connected research.

NFDI4Health was actively involved and contributed its perspectives through two exciting presentations. The panel discussion "The Role of NUM in the Clinical Research System in 10 Years" focused on the long-term direction of NUM in German research. Juliane Fluck from NFDI4Health discussed with other experts the importance of better networking and an efficient infrastructure for the future of research. In the "Researcher meets Researcher" session, the integration of various research infrastructures and the connection of clinical and outpatient research were explored. Johannes Darms from NFDI4Health addressed the current challenges of cross-sectoral collaboration and the significance of the FAIR data principles in his keynote speech. The subsequent panel discussion made it clear: cross-sectoral structures hold immense opportunities, require intensive cooperation, and demand a high level of commitment from all involved.
