The environmental impact of the agricultural and food system plays a fundamental role in the current debate about the health of the planet. The 60th DGE Scientific Congress will focus on this complex topic. The plenary lectures will focus on associations between plant-based diets and health, increasing product diversification, but also aspects of the environmental sustainability of plant-based diets in comparison - and also on research data.
After all, good data form the basis for all changes in these complex issues. Only those who know them can initiate changes in the right direction. And this cross-cutting issue in particular shows how important it is for the future of our planet to make data comparable between research disciplines. This is where data from biology, agricultural science and health science come together - and the NFDI is working to ensure that they can be used jointly in the future.
