On 11 and 12 September, the central network meeting of German data stewards took place in Aachen. This year, the focus of the conference was on building and strengthening networks in the community.

NFDI4Health at ‘Data Stewardship goes Germany’

In her presentation, “Support Research Data Management in Health Studies: Library and Research Working Together in a Data Steward Pilot,” Birte Lindstädt introduced a pilot Project of NFDI4Health. She outlined how library-based Data Stewards should collaborate with medical researchers to make health data available in a FAIR manner and enriched with metadata. The audience responded with a great deal of positive feedback and asked some interested follow-up questions.

Over the two days, there were numerous interesting conversations and new connections made, as the Data Steward community differs from other research data management communities. The presence of the consortia NFDI-GS, NFDI4Microbiota, and FAIRagro also strengthened cross-consortium collaboration.
