The conference of the German Society for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) took place in Heilbronn from 17 to 21 September 2023. The symposium for digital health research was hosted under the motto "Science. Close to the people" and attracted 800 participants from various scientific disciplines. Members of the NFDI4Health consortium attended the conference to present their strategy for a FAIR data infrastructure in health research to a broad audience.

NFDI4Health nahm mit etwa 15 Mitgliedern an der Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie (GMDS) teil. Zum 68. Mal tage die Fachgesellschaft mit rund 800 Besucher:innen vom 17. bis 21. September 2023 in Heilbronn. Die Fachtagung bot eine Austauschplattform für Forschende aus medizin-informatischen, biometrischen und epidemiologischen Fachbereichen. Das Programm reichte von medizinischen Fortbildungen über eine Summer School für Nachwuchsforschende bis hin zu interdisziplinären Fachvorträgen.

15 members of NFDI4Health participated in the annual meeting of the German Society for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS). For the 68th time, the society met in Heilbronn from 17 to 21 September 2023 . 800 people have registered and attend the talks, workshops and discussions. The conference offered an exchange platform for researchers from medical informatics, biometrics and epidemiology. The program ranged from medical training courses and a summer school for young researchers to interdisciplinary lectures.

NFDI4Health contributed to the scientific discourse on building a sustainable and FAIR data infrastructure in health research with the presentation of the white paper on improving record linkage for health research in Germany. NFDI4Health also offered a presentation on requirements for FAIR Data Quality Indicators and an exciting panel discussion on the future of the medical data science field. The 2 NFDI4Health tutorials on FAIR data management tools and FAIRification of study data attracted great interest and resulted in lively discussions.
